Photo of the "pogroms of Armenians" in Baku was spread in one of the social media. Those who spread that photo assert that in the 90s maps were distributed in Baku where they were allegedly marked with places. They show the old maps as their proof. However, even a cursory acquaintance with the map allows us to state confidently that this is the result of photoshop, when the inscriptions about pogroms and other things were transferred to the map using a computer. The map is quite old with bends visible on it.

Stylized Soviet font inscriptions associated with pogroms are clearly visible. In some places, they fall on the bends and unevenness. It seems that they were imposed later. The question of what the map designates before falling into the hands of Armenian propagandists remains open.

There is little information on search for the primary source of the map. The earliest mention of the map dates back to 2013. Before, Armenian propagandists were busy creating other myths, and only by 2013 they had time for this map. It is true that they decided to limit themselves to the map and did not come up with a reasonable legend for it, explaining where this map came from. I think in the next few years they will understand that they have miscalculated, and yet they will come up with some interesting fairy tale about where this map comes from. Now they confine themselves to blocking the Azerbaijani access to all sites where this map is present, so that we do not interfere with their creation of myth.

"If you look at this map, it becomes clear that it is designed for people who are not familiar with Baku, did not see those events," the senior researcher at the Institute of Law and Human Rights of ANAS, the director of the Center for History of Caucasus, historian Rizvan Huseynov told Vzglyad.az, commenting on the issue with the map.

This is another forgery and falsification in order to influence the public and overshadow the tragic events of January 20th, "the historian noted.

Falsification of historical facts is a common action for them and the recent map on social network is not first in this regard. Armenian propaganda never stops their attempts including inthe creation of fake maps. Returning to the map mentioned at the beginning of the article, I would like to remind the Armenian side that at that time Azerbaijan was helped by Armenians wishing to leave Baku and defended them. Ordinary Azerbaijanis helped Armenians and any witness of events of those times will tell about it. However, it is not profitable to recall it, it is much easier to show oneself as victims, justifying the terrible events on January 20, 1990, when a lot of people died in Baku. However, it is impossible to create endless falsifications, the truth will be prevailed in any case.
